Dongyu Island has been determined as the permanent site of Boao Forum for Asia. The annual conference of BFA held here (in April) each year serves as a summit dialogue platform for governments, enterprises, scholars and experts to consult about the issues concerning the international economic and social development, etc.

Covering an area of 37000 square meters in total, BFA International Convention Center consists of three floors. The second floor houses of the main convention hall is for BFA Annual Conference with an area of 2592 square meters, which can seat 2000 people to attend the meeting. Yellow is adopted as the major tune for the main convention hall, which looks imposing, marvelous and magnificent.

The convention center is equipped with the 6+1 simultaneous translation system and 360-degree high-resolution video capture and playing systems. In the center is a mobile wall whereby the convention hall can be divided into two parts when necessary. The equipment and facilities therein are most advanced around Hainan and even rare in China.
