In December 2000 Treehouses of Hawaii Inc., in partnership with Sanya Nanshan Industry Dev ltd opened 4 treehouses as vacation rentals, atop and along a sand dune in beautiful old tamarind trees, isolated on a magnificent seemingly never ending virgin beach adjacent to a new 5,000 acre Buddhist and ecological theme park, mainly of lovely temples, pagodas, botanical gardens and untouched nature from the bottom of the sea to the top of Nanshan Mountain.
Big Beach in the Sky Treehouse: Fantastic Ocean/beach view. Atop a towering tamarind tree above the sandune accessible only by suspension bridge. Sleeps six comfortably on two levels and a loft one minute run down the dune to crystal clear bathing in the warm waters of the South China Sea 950rmb/night.
Why It’s Unique: Built into a stand of tamarind trees, the “Big Beach in the Sky” treehouse sleeps four in rustic accommodations steps away from the blue waters of the South China Sea. While the treehouse does have electricity, guests will have to walk 35 feet to a hot shower.
Access: Rope-and-plank suspension bridge.
What to Do: Visit the botanical gardens and temples of the adjacent 5,000-acre Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Theme Park, which includes a 354-foot statue of the Buddha Guanyin.
