Language in Sanya

 

Mandarin is official language in Sanya China. In most of 5 star resorts in Sanya, the management and staff can communicate in English. But don’t expect any staff in a department store, local restaurant or shopping mall to understand English.

Sanya local people speaks the local dialect, it's really different from mandarin. In Hainan Island there are 10 local dialect.

No drivers understand English. So make sure to bring the hotel address card with the destination in Chinese on the back of the card to present to the taxi driver whenever needed.
